I had a respiratory infection that would not respond completely to several courses of antibiotics. The problem existed for several months. I purchased 9 large salt lamps and placed them around my small condo, keeping them lit 24/7.
In addition I used a steam inhaler that enabled me to inhale a very dilute saline solution made from Himalayan Salt about every 4 hours during the day. In about a week, the situation resolved itself.
However, I still use the steam inhaler twice a day and the lamps remain lit 24/7. As an added benefit, I noticed that the air in my home smelled much fresher and cleaner than the air outside with no changes other than the salt lamps and I do not use any air cleaners, refreshers, plug-ins, or scents. My overall energy and feelings of well being seem to be higher.

"Salt Rock Lamps... If you are wondering what they are and what they can do
you are not alone.
My husband came home with one from work on Friday, May 16, 2008 and I
thought he had lost his mind until now. My first thought when I saw it was
this isn't "country" and that is what he blurted out, I know it's not
country but people at work were buying them and I asked some one about them
and they told me they helped many things but most of all he was concerned
about my sinuses and breathing problems and wanted me to try it. So here's
my story. Keep in mind I am 63 years old and have been smoking since I was
thirteen and have had a quadruple bypass.
My sinuses were so bad I was not able to get any air through my nose. It
was constantly blocked and I used a nose spray at least twice a day if not
more, at times, for over a year. I know I wasn't supposed to, but it opened
my nasal passages so I could breathe. The other problem I had was my lungs
I couldn't walk even short distances that my lungs felt like they were
burning out and my heart would pound so from the strain I'd have to stop. I
couldn't go up or down stairs without the same thing happening. I was
unable to get the phlegm up. My lungs were as I can explain it so tight
that I couldn't cough anything up.
Unbelieving as I was, I put the lamp in our bedroom on the 16th of May,
2008. I had to admit the very next morning I did wake up with my throat not
being so closed and dried shut as I would explain it.
Around May 30th I didn't need to use the nose spray that day and I now have
not used nose spray, not once since then and am able to breathe freely
through my nose.
Wait, it gets better Saturday, June 7th, 2008 we went to the Mohegan Sun
Casino where I love to go although that was tough on me because of the
difficulty walking and breathing from walking long distances. I can't tell
you how many times I'd have to stop and sit down my heart beating so fast I
thought it would come out of my chest and the burning in my lungs was as if
my lungs were going to crystallize. You guessed it, yesterday we walked
around the full circle of Mohegan not once, but twice as we did get a little
lost and confused as to what section we were in when I realized my lungs
weren't burning and my heart wasn't pounding out of my chest.
It is amazing to me the effects from the salt rock lamp. It even takes me a
while to recognize that something has happened. Just a few days ago, I
noticed that I was finally able to start bringing the phlegm up. I know
this sounds gross, but when you have this kind of problem where at times you
feel like you could die from not being able to breathe you can appreciate
how valuable the lamps are.
I went on line to find out if I could buy the lamps and found Salt Lamps For
Less. I have already ordered three boxes of six and given them for presents
and have them in several rooms in the house including one in my office.
Friends and family that I have given them to have already noticed things
like the breathing is better; allergies are better; children that couldn't
sleep in their own beds all night are; a child with allergies no longer

name just a few.
